Rosa, Moat fuel victory over Maroon Raiders

Dumont surged to a 23-14 lead after eight minutes in defeating Dwight Morrow 63-48 in a BCSL - American Division clash on Tuesday (January 29). Jasmine Rosa and Leigha Moat formed a potent 1-2 scoring punch, combining for 35 points of which 13 came at the charity stripe where the Huskies built up a 19-0 advantage over the Maroon Raiders. Two days later, Colleen O'Neill tipped in a rebound with less than two seconds remaining to give Dumont a 45-43 triumph over Westwood. Rosa riddled the cords with a game-high 23 points.
Scoring twice in the third period, Dumont skated to a 2-2 deadlock with DePaul on Saturday as the Huskies record moved to 6-2-1. D.J. Bartelucci and Tommy O'Connor netted the third period goals with Bartelucci and Chris Zaragoza picking up assists. Goalie Cody Sansone was credited with a dozen saves.
Dumont dropped a 47-27 verdict to the combined Ridgefield Park/Ridgefield squad on Wednesday. Dominick Manginelli (103), Miguel Botero (112), Alex Machio (140) and Andre Sandor (215) producing pins with Manginelli needing only 20 seconds to pack up and plant his opponent.

Huskies sweep Baldachini Christmas Bell tourney

Dumont went on a 21-11 run down the stretch to break open a tight game and claim the Frank Baldachino Christmas Bell Boys Basketball Tournament on Friday (December 28) with a 59-47 trriumph over Ramsey. Joe Hrnclar fueled the attack, pumping a game-high 18 points through the iron while Sam Gerais chipped in with a 14-point effort that included a pair of treys. In the opening round, the Huskies disposed of Waldwick 59-30 as Hrnclar led all scorers when he netted 18 points while Gerais bombed a trio of three-pointers through the twine to finish with 15 points and Chris Kraykowski tallied 10.
In the girls tourney, Dumont opened its semifinal matchup with Waldwick by going on a 17-2 run in the initial eight minutes and upped its advantage to 33-10 by the halftime break before defeating the Lady Warriors 53-29. Jasmine Rosa tickled the twine with a game-high 16 points with Jaclyn McClinton netting a dozen. Dumont won the team title with a 52-44 victory over Ramsey as the unbeaten Huskies won their sixth straight of the campaign. McClinton and Jen Murphy tossed 15 points apiece into the bucket while Rosa finished with 13 points.
Chris Zaragoza converted a pass from Tommy O'Connor at 10:18 of the second period as the Huskies skated to a 1-0 triumph over DePaul at the House Ice in Hackensack. Goalie Cody Sansone registered 15 saves to earn credit for the shutout "W" between the pipes.
