With five players reaching double figures, Dumont cruised to a 81-33 victory
over Hawthorne Christian in the Defenders' Holiday Tournament on Thursday. The Lady exploded to a 21-7 lead after
eight minutes and continued to surge, leading 41-16 at the intermission and 66-22 entering the fourth quarter as
they upped their unbeaten record to 6-0.
Emily Aponte topped all scorers when she netted 24 points after scoring
her 1000th point in Dumont's 59-19 rout of Waldwick in the opening round of the tourney. To top off her success
in the tourney, Aponte committed to continue her academic/athletic career as the University of Sciences in Philadelphia,
an NCAA Division II school where she will major in pre-medicine. Jen Murphy tallied 15 points, Danielle Rohe swished
14 through the cords including a quartet of three-pointers, Jasmine Rosa added a dozen and Jen Pleus finished with
10.
Dumont dropped a 46-26 verdict to Ramsey in the consolation round of the
Frank Baldachino Holiday Tournament held at Hawthorne Christian. Ramsey surged to a 13-1 lead by the end of the
first quarter and the Huskies were never in contention. Kyle Emmet netted a team-high eight points.
